  • What is literary criticism, and how does it help understand a text?
  • Why is it important to utilize more than one source in building an argument?
  • How do we make effective PowerPoint presentations?

goals

  • Students will understand that various "schools of thought" with literary criticism help us apply different lenses to a story, bringing to light deeper meanings and symbolism.
  • Students will understand that presenting a strong argument requires combining information from different sources to validate the perspective.
  • Students will understand that effective PowerPoint presentations are intentionally organized, combine text and images, and serve as the support for - rather than the majority of - a presentation.
